My cat won't eat, has fever, pain, and vet found nothing. What to do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 6 years and 9 months old | 6.7 lbs

My seven year old calico cat has been two days without eating or drinking. She cried when I picked her up this morning. I took her to the vet. Temp 103 and down a lb. to 6.7 They did blood work and x-rays and nothing significant was noted. She has a little bit of dental decay but nothing that would cause this per vet She was injected hydrated given B12 shot, and Cerenia -However there was no vomiting or diarrhea. She is still in pain when I pick her up and isn’t eating or drinking. Help

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Princess! Did the Vet do feel her back or check her urine for a urinary tract infection? Even though the blood work and X-rays are normal she could still have pancreatitis or a virus that just needs time. But since we are approaching the weekend and now day 3 with out eating, I would call your Vet when they open. See if they want to recheck her today or try something else (antibiotic, pain medications, appetite stimulant). I wish you and Princess the best!
