My cat has a painful chin lump. Could it be feline acne? How to treat?

I just noticed my cat had a lump on his chin, it seems to be painful and he's not comfortable if you touch it. Few months ago I noticed he had a black spot where he later developed the lump and now I suspect it was feline acne, could it have gotten infected? How do you treat feline acne? Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 7 years old | 12 lbs
