I just found a little bit of bloody mucus in my cats poop, could there be something wrong or is it something minor?

Blood in the stools can be minor or serious, there are many gastrointestinal conditions that can cause that, if you find blood again in the next few days i would recommend taking her to the vet in order to get it checked.

I'm sorry you found blood in Margot's feces! Thank you for all the information, it helps rule out some things it could be, so it is appreciated :-) Whenever there is blood in the stool, it is concerning because it isn't normal, and it's something that should always be checked out by a vet. It could be caused by GI polyps, a foreign body, impacted anal sacs, food allergic or intolerance, GI infection, or trauma to the GI tract. I would take Margot into the vet during normal business hours to have a physical exam, blood tests, and a urinalysis to diagnose what is causing her bloody stools so she can treated. I would also recommend brining a sample of her feces with you just so the vet can examine it if needed.

This amount of blood can be caused by any sort of intestinal irritation. You don't need to rush him to the vet, but I would recommend keeping an eye on his stool for the next few days, and if this continues, he needs to go back to the vet for a check up and fecal testing. I would be worried about intestinal parasites (even though he doesn't go outside, you do) and inflammatory bowel disease as potential cases.
