My rabbit eats hay and pellets. Should I add vegetables to her diet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | spayed | 1 year old

My rabbit is a little older than one year, I currently feed her unlimited Timothy hay, unlimited water, and a small amount of pellets split between morning and night. I do not fees her vegetables consistently, although I feel that I should. So, is this diet food enough? And should I add or change anything?

You can add fresh vegetables and greens. The general recommendation is 2 cups per 6 pounds of body weight daily. If she doesn't eat it all or if her droppings become loose, decrease the amount or skip a day or two.
