Pet's info: Dog | Collie | Female | spayed | 10 years old | 44 lbs
My collie was sick and had diarrhea 2 weeks ago. We took her to the vet and he thought it was a bacterial infection so gave her antibiotics and told us to give her rice and yoghurt for 48 hours and then introduce chicken for a couple of days and then go back to her regular diet. She seemed better for 6 days but she had diarrhea again yesterday and she was sick again last night. Do you know what might be causing this? She's 10 years old.

Unfortunately diarrhea can be a sign of many different diseases, and since Misty has not responded to the initial treatment I'd recommend rechecking with your veterinarian. Liver disease, pancreatitis, food sensitivity, Addison's disease, and inflammatory bowel disease are just a few of the many diseases that can cause recurrent diarrhea and vomiting. Your veterinarian might recommend checking a blood panel as the next step.
