Why is my unneutered male dog bleeding? Should I use prostate drops?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | unneutered | 9 years and 6 months old | 65 lbs

My 9yr old non nuetured male dog has had a few drops of blood on the floor past few days. Don't want to do tons of testing. He's happy and eating and drinking fine. Pressed all around his belly and he had no reaction . Should I get him the prostate drops? I will get him to vet soon as well just not going to do all the testing at this point.

I would be concerned about a prostate infection. Ideally, you would get a urinalysis done to see if there is a urinary tract infection. If it is not a urinary tract infection or prostatic infection I would be concerned about bladder stones. Unfortunately, Max does need some diagnostic testing.
