My senior dogs have swollen, discharging eyes. Is a second vet opinion needed?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | 8 years and 5 months old | 5 lbs

I adopted 3 dogs since they were 3 months old from an old lady near our town, the 2 are already bling and eyes are swollen and have discharge.vet said as long they eat and nothing change of behavior I can leave it as it is, now they are 8 yrs old.eyes still swollen and have discharge,my heart is breaking and don't know what to do. pls help me.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I love your group picture! This is an upsetting story. The last picture shows your dog not even opening the left eye. To be honest I recommend a second opinion regarding their eyes. Since it has been going on since birth it could be a congenital issue like entropion (curling in of the eye lashes) or eye lashes that are growing abnormally contacting the eye. I highly recommend having them checked by another vet for a second opinion especially for the dog closing the left eye. That indicates pain. I wish you the best
