My puppy has recurring vomiting and diarrhea. What's wrong with him?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 6 months and 29 days old | 14.4 lbs

My puppy got diarrhea three days ago and threw up. I started observing if he would do it again and it went away for two days. Today he threw up and had diarrhea again. He hasn’t changed his food or eat anything. What could it be that’s upsetting his stomach? What can I do to fix this

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Vomiting and diarrhea can occur secondary to conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, dietary indiscretion, parasites, among other possibilities. I recommend that you have Toffee evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. At the very least they can start him on medications to make him feel better and check his hydration status. In the meantime, keep water available at all times to try to prevent dehydration. Good luck and have a good night!
