Hello and thank you very much for your question. It’s always exciting to get a new kitten in the house. Laila needs to be seen by a veterinarian so that they can perform a full physical examination and customize a preventative health care program specifically to meet your and her needs. For instance, they will ask questions such as will this be an indoor or outdoor cat, are there other animals in the household, is there any prior history of vaccinations or deworming, etc. in addition to this, they will probably want to run a few tests like a fecal analysis to check for intestinal parasites as well as perform a feline leukemia and FIV test. The normal series of vaccinations for a kitten are as follows: six weeks of age, nine weeks of age, 12 weeks of age, and the last set of vaccinations around 16 weeks of age. You will also want to talk to the veterinarian about putting Laila on a monthly heartworm and flea preventative. I applaud you for taking such a proactive approach to your kittens healthcare. Have a great day.
