Dog has watery diarrhea, straining, pacing. Is he okay until vet?

My dog started having diarrhea and now strains but only watery stool will come out. He hasn't vomited and ate this morning. He will pace and walk door to door. I called the vet but they can't get him in until 2:30. He seems anxious. Pet's info: Dog | Bulldog | Male | unneutered | 4 years and 2 months old | 80 lbs
