My dog is vomiting, won't eat, and getting worse. Vet didn't help.

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Male | neutered | 10 years and 6 months old | 10 lbs

My dog has gone to the vet because he vomits every time he eats but now he has completely lost his appetite and tries to avoid his surroundings. The vet said there was nothing wrong just to change his diet but it didn't work. He is getting worse and so my question is what do I do?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Vomiting can be observed with conditions such as gastroenteritis, pancreatitis, dietary indiscretion, gastrointestinal foreign body ingestion and obstruction, among other possibilities. Since he has not improved, more diagnostics such as abdominal imaging and bloodwork are indicated. For this reason, I highly recommend that you have Chewy reevaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment as soon as possible as I am afraid he is likely becoming dehydrated. They would be able to check for these possibilities and also check his hydration status and give him medications to make him feel better. Good luck!
