Can I give my dog Benadryl for skin allergies and severe itching?

He's getting groomed on Tue. I've cut chicken out of his diet, put salmon oil in his food, and monitor very closely what he eats. The weather recently (Ventura, CA) has been very warm. Hi, thanks for using PetCoach! Poor Boo! You can try Benadryl, see link below, but I don't think it will be enough to relieve his scratching. He likely needs to be on something stronger like steroids or apoquel or cytopoint. If the Benadryl doesn't help within a few day I recommend having your Vet do an exam of his skin. https://www.petcoach.co/canigive/dog/benadryl/ Good luck!
