My 1 year old cat has been losing weight and have been sneezing and having a hard time breathing. I tried to turn on humidifier with menthol scent for her but didn't work. Her nose discharge is brownish red and both her ears are wet inside. I started to give her amoxicillin 50mg every 12 hrs for the past 1 week mixing with her favourite wet food but nothing improve. she still lost her appetite and sick Should I stop the medication our wait a little longer?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Difficult breathing can be a sign of many conditions such as pneumonia, bronchitis, heart disease, among many other possibilities. This could also be the result of an upper respiratory infection. I do not recommend continuing antibiotics at home without further veterinary care as her symptoms are unlikely to improve without knowing what is going on. Inappetence in cats can be very concerning as it can be detrimental to their health, more so than in dogs. I recommend that you have Oliver evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Likely diagnostics to be performed include thoracic radiographs and bloodwork. Treatment would be dependent on findings. Good luck and have a good day!
