Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 8 months old | 55 lbs
So took my boy to see his vet yesterday and he was diagnosed with an ear infection, but with rod bacteria. They gave him a steroid shot and injected medicine in his ears(see attached pic of medication) however, he is still scratching and shaking his head. In the past when he had ear infections (due to allergies) they were coci bacteria and a shot and ear injection did the trick to cure him.Was I suppose to get additional medication for him to take?

I am sorry to hear that Apollo is so uncomfortable. Significant ear infections such as what you describe can take weeks to months to completely resolve. I would expect slow improvement daily. I typically see these patients back every 10-14 days until the infection is completely resolved. Best of luck and I hope he is more Comfortable soon. Thank you for using Pet Coach.
