Why is my 3-week-old puppy's belly bloated despite home remedies?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

3 week pup bloated. Looks like swallowed softball. She seems fine otherwise ive tried gas meds and warm water enema no luck. She does poop on her own and i stimulate. Bottle fed pup formula. Sometimes hard turd other diahrea but none eliminates the bloat. She plays eats and sleeps notmal for a pup of her age and only whines when hungry or has to go to br. If we lay off food for a bit it goes down a bit but dont want her malnutritioned. No visable worms in stool and she sleeps normal.

Even if there aren't visible worms in the stool it may be a good idea to deworm her anyway to see if it helps as some parasites can be microscopic. If deworming doesn't seem to solve the issue, having your vet take a look to rule out any more serious problems such as an allergy, deformity, GI issue, etc, is best.
