My new kitten has diarrhea, is lethargic, and cries. What to do?

Me got a kitten from Louisiana, he was fine he first week and a half now he his bad Diarrhea and cries normally whenever you pick him up.. he’s being really lethargic when at first he was playful and spunky no problem. Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 10 lbs

Have him examined by your veterinarian to diagnose infection (bacterial or viral) or injury. Submit a stool sample to diagnose intestinal parasites or bacterial overgrowth. Supportive care (IV or subcutaneous fluids, parenteral nutrition, antibiotics and anti-diarrheals) may be indicated. Withhold food for 12 hours, allowing small amounts of water or unflavored PediaLyte. Resume feeding a bland diet in small, frequent amounts until symptoms resolve then transition slowly to his regular diet.
