Pet's info: Cat | Siberian | Male | unneutered | 1 month and 29 days old | 1.6 lbs
Hi, my kitten I rescued is recovering from an URI. His eyes were completely shut and he was underweight. I’ve had him almost a month and I’ve brought him to good health! My only concern is that know that his eyes are starting to open, they look like his third eyelid is permanently over his eyes. He can sense light changes and he can sense shadows on reflective surfaces. My vet said it would be at least two weeks before his eyes were back to normal. He has ointment and daily lysine.

How lovely of you to take in this kitten and look after him! Salem is very lucky to have you. It sounds like he was pretty sick, and your vet is right that it will take time for his eyes to return to normal. I would continue to give the ointment and lysine as directed, and continue to monitor his eyes. Hopefully you should start to see more signs of improvement over the next two weeks, but if they don't appear to be improving, I would take him back into the vet. Best of luck!
