My 3-month-old puppy has diarrhea for a week. What can I do?

We adopted a 3 month old blue heeler mix puppy from a local shelter. He has had diarrhea for the entire week we've had him. We have tried pumpkin and rice, but this has not seemed to make a dent. Is there anything else we can try? We feed him twice per day the SimplyNatural Chicken and Rice for puppies. This is also what the shelter was feeding him, but they watered it down.

I would have a stool sample checked. It may have worm or parasites such as coccidia or giardia that are causing it. Stress can also play a role since he has a new home. You can add a probiotic to his diet that you can get from any pet store to help.
