Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 12 lbs
My cat has a one very squinty slightly swollen eye and his third eye lid film is white. Also he has a slightly runny nose and compared to my much older cat it seems very runny. The cat I’m worried about is barely a year old and he’s about 15 pounds and was adopted from the human society. He’s an indoor cat and he’s gotten shots at the human society when he was there. I’ve also noticed he seem much more lathargic. I just want to know if I should be worried.

It sounds like Cat could have an upper respiratory infection. These infections are usually viral and kittens are often infected when they are very young before they are vaccinated. The respiratory virus can become latent and then flare up during times of stress causing conjunctivitis and nasal discharge/sneezing. I’d recommend having your veterinarian examine Cat to confirm. Occasionally secondary bacterial infections will develop and antibiotics are sometimes prescribed. A scratch on the eye is also possible but wouldn’t explain the runny nose.
