My 2-month-old puppy bit me. Is there a risk of infection or rabies?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | unspayed

I adopted a 2 month old puppy .I don't know her origin or her history . she had her first vaccination a week back. today morning she bit me , a deep scratch and it seeped blood every 2-3 mine for a while. I cleaned it up immediately with antiseptic . should I be concerned about infections ?

Hi, thanks for using PetCaoch! You should see a human doctor to determine if you need further medical care. We are veterinarians and are only allowed to treat animals. You should be up to date on tetanus. As for Rabies, as long as she hasn't been bitten in her life by an unvaccinated dog or wild animals it is unlikelyn she has rabies. In order for her to transmit rabies to you it would have to be in her salivary glands (infectious form) and she would show symptoms with in 10 days of biting you. If she is normal and not showing signs of Rabies at day 10 then she couldn't have give you rabies. i wish you the best.
