My 3-week-old kitten has blood in stool after food changes. Vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Female | unspayed

Hi my cat is 3 weeks old and I’ve been noticing some blood in her stool and I changed her food before 2 times and I’ll change it again because I found out that it’s better quality for her. Do I need to take her to a vet or is it normal.

I would recommend a trip to the vet because blood in the stool is not normal. We can have a variety of reasons for it, including parasites, inflammatory bowel disease, food intolerance, and more. The safest course of action in a cat this young is to have her examined and bring a stool sample along with you if you have one that is recent (past 24 hours) for the vet to test.
