My small kitten has bad diarrhea after food change. What to do?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 5 lbs

Kitten has bad diarrhea did experience a change in food hard to soft as i was just trying to put some weight on him hes pretty small not sure what to do

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Gizmo! A food change can cause diarrhea as can the following: intestinal parasites, viral or bacterial infections, protozoal infections. I would be sure he has been dewormed and bring a stools sample to your Vet. I would ask for a prescription canned food like Hill's i/d to feed him until the diarrhea resolves. If he is thin it is best to have your vet examine him to be sure he is healthy. I wish you and Gizmo the best!
