My kitten's neuter incision looks swollen and crusty. Is it infected?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 5 months and 29 days old | 6 lbs

I got my 6 month old male kitten neutered 5 days ago , Inicially when I brought him home he was very swollen which the vet warned me about due to some bleeding during surgery. I kept a close eye on it and took progress shots, fast forward a few days, the swelling went down significantly but there seems to be a slight curve at the top and it’s very crusty looking which is making me concerned about an abcess or infection. Hi there That does look more swollen than it should be at this stage. To be safe I'd recommend taking Jack in for an exam and to check his temperature because he could have an infection. I hope that helps!
