My dog's eye scratch won't heal after vet treatment. What's wrong?

Pet's info: Dog | English Bulldog | Male | unneutered | 87 lbs

My dog has been holding his right eye shut he has been doing that for about 10 days I have taken him to the vet twice they said it was a scratch on his eye and the first time I was given drops they didn't do anything so I took him back and they gave me ointment I she been putting that in twice a day for about 5 days and sometimes his eye is fine and than he isn't I don't know what to do

I am sorry to hear that Elvis isn’t healing the way we would hope. Some dogs will develop a non healing ulcer , Also called an indolent ulcer of the cornea. If this is the problem then a short surgical procedure to debride the cornea called a keratotomy will usually aid in getting it to heal. I would encourage you to schedule a follow up appointment with your veterinarian soon. Best of luck and I hope he heals quickly. Thank you for using Pet Coach.
