My Yorkie's diarrhea and shaking are back. Should I see the vet again?

About two weeks ago I took my 4 year old Yorkie to the vet because of vomiting, diarrhea, and shaking. They gave him antidiarrheal medicines and antibiotics. Now the same thing is starting to happen again, he has diarrhea and shaking so far. Please help, I don’t want to spend a lot more money at the vet for the same thing to happen if I don’t need to.

I'm sorry to hear that Oscar hasn't been feeling well. I'm concerned that whatever originally made him sick two weeks ago hasn't fully resolved. A condition known as pancreatitis is a common cause of vomiting and diarrhea in his breed. It can be potentially serious so I would encourage him to be seen by his veterinarian again. The sooner a diagnosis can be made, it is typically less expensive and you can learn how to manage him long-term. If there is another cause of his symptoms, you will want to know this as well. Good luck to you and Oscar!
