Yes I like feeding three times a day for several more months. I adjust the amount at each feeding depending on how hungry he is. I want him to be hungry and just finish the meal. If he’s starving and woofs it all down in a few seconds then you are not feeding enough. Gradually he’ll stop being hungry at the mid day meal, then I go to two feedings daily for the rest of his life. I increase it if he’s too hungry. I like puppies to be hungry at the meal and just about finish the food. If he’s ravenous and eats it all in a few seconds then you are not feeding enough. I go by what keeps your puppy full, not by the amount it recommends on the bag. The amount will vary depending on the activity level and breed. As he gets older he will stop being hungry at the mid day meal so I then continue to feed two meals daily forever. Also he will level off his eating between six to twelve months. Only when he’s full grown do I worry about over feeding as long as he’s active. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for Jasper.
