Is it safe to introduce an unvaccinated puppy to an older dog?

Luke is coming home this week. He will be five weeks old ( I know he's young to be separated from mom but we had to take him). I have a 9-year-old Shih Tzu at home and want to know if he can be around him. Luke hasn't been vaccinated yet and my other dog hasn't been vaccinated for years ( only has rabies shot ). Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 1 month and 5 days old | 13 lbs

It would be best to keep them separate and take your older dog in for his vaccinations before they get together. The puppy can start his vaccinations between 6-8 weeks. He should be dewormed also.
