My cat has a chest lump with a wound. Is it cancer or an abscess?

My cat has a lump on his chest. It also has a small would that makes me think he might have been Bitten. But im really scared, i don’t want him to have câncer. Please help me

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern! Judging from the picture, it looks as though there is a puncture in the center of the lump. I suspect this to be an abscess from some sort of penetrating injury (bite, scratch, etc.). I would recommend having this looked at by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. If this is an abscess, it will likely need to be drained, flushed and then he will need to go on an oral antibiotic as well. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction!
