What causes puppy diarrhea with sesame seeds and how to treat?

My dog did diaherria. It came out light brown with a substance that looked like seasame seeds to me. What is it and how do i treat it?

There are a number of causes of diarrhea in puppies Lena's age, and a common one is intestinal worms. It's important to make sure she is up to date on her deworming treatments, and I would give her one now in case she is not. I recommend Drontal or Panacur. Be sure to give her one dose now, and another dose in two weeks to kill all the worms. She should then be dewormed every three months. Other causes of diarrhea include GI illness, parvovirus, eating something rotten, or a foreign body. I can give you a home remedy to try to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the diarrhea continues on the bland diet, she starts vomiting food, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away. Intestinal worms are common in puppies and could be the cause of Woodford's diarrhea. It could also be that he has a stomach illness. Make sure his deworming treatments are up to date, and I can give you a home remedy for him to see if that helps. Possible causes of diarrhea in a young dog include viruses, parasites, gastroenteritis from eating different foods or treats, or parvovirus (highly unlikely if she was fully vaccinated). Since Skeena otherwise seems normal, you can first try a home remedy. Start by withholding food for 12-24 hours, then offer small frequent meals of a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken and white rice for a few days. After the diarrhea resolves, gradually transition back to her normal puppy food by mixing the two foods together over 5-7 days. If Skeena's diarrhea worsens, she starts vomiting, becomes lethargic or stops eating, she will need to go to her vet for further evaluation. I hope that all goes well!

It sounds like Hershey is suffering from diarrhea, and in young puppies, that can commonly be caused by intestinal worms. Make sure she is up to date on her deworming treatments, giving her one if she is not. She should be dewormed again in two weeks to kill all the worms in her intestines, then monthly until she is six months of age. After that, she should be dewormed every three months. I can also give you a home remedy to try to see if that helps her. Withhold food for 8 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the diarrhea continues on the bland diet, she refuses to eat the bland diet, she starts vomiting food, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away. My Lolli puppy is having diarrhea please do suggest medication.
Poor girl. Diarrhea at this age can be due to intestinal parasites (i.e. roundworms, hookworms, etc). I would first start with a broad spectrum dewormer from your local pet store. Then you can try a bland diet of boiled plain chicken and rice or cottage cheese for 4-7 days, then slowly transition him back to his normal diet. I would also recommend adding 1-2 tsp of canned pumpkin in his food daily to add fiber and bulk up his stools. And lastly a probiotic (i.e. Culturelle over the counter) for the next week. Hopefully this does the trick! However, if the loose stools don't improve within 3-4 days, or if puppy becomes weak or inappetent at any point, then its best to have him seen by your vet for further evaluation and stronger medication (i.e. antibiotics). There are several possible causes of diarrhea including food intolerance, parasites, viral or bacterial infection, and stress. Puppies with diarrhea can become dehydrated quickly. If you have access to a veterinarian, I recommend taking Misty in to be evaluated as soon as you can. If you do not have access to a veterinarian, you can offer Misty a bland diet with rice and egg. Try feeding several small meals per day rather than one or two large meals. Once her diarrhea improves you can start adding back in her regular food. When she is feeling better she is due for her first set of puppy vaccinations, and this will need to be repeated at 12 and 16 weeks of age. I hope she is feeling better soon.

I am very sorry to hear about your puppy. What a cutie he is! In young dogs like this, we do worry very much about other causes of diarrhea such as intestinal parasites (worms but also protozoal parasites such as coccidia and giardia) and viral infections (such as parvo virus). If your puppy is lethargic, has decreased appetite, has blood in the stool, or is vomiting I would recommend taking him to the vet right away because these can be signs of parvo virus which can make them very sick. If he is still energetic then I would consider a bland diet (plain cooked rice and boiled shredded chicken breast) and a probiotic (such as https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/vetri-science-laboratories-vetri-mega-probiotic-dog-and-cat-capsules) until your vet's office reopens (hopefully monday) and then making an appointment for an exam. The vet will want to check his stool for these parasites and may need to prescribe an antibiotic for potential bacterial overgrowth and to help decrea
