How much should I feed my baby leopard gecko and what size crickets?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I was wondering how much I should be feeding my pet leopard gecko. He's a hatching probably only a few months old. And I have been feeding him one meal worm a day and like 3 smal crickets. But he will eat up to 6 or 7 a day if I let him. Also I purchased about 50 small crickets and some of them have grown quite large. They would still be considered small. But I was wondering if they were now too big for him. What I will typically do is feed him 1 larger cricket. 1 worm and then 1 small cricket.

Feed Yuca as many crickets as he will eat in 10-15 minutes. The crickets should be no bigger than the space between his eyes. Freshly molted mealworms can be provided in a bowl to be eaten at will. Be sure to gut load all prey for 24 hours prior to offering to maximize nutritional value. Supplement with a calcium powder as well as a multivitamin. This is typically accomplished by dusting prey.
