Poor Phipps. It sounds like your pet may have an ulcer and possible uveitis, unsure but check with your vet on his diagnosis because it requires specific tests that are ran in the clinic to confirm. I am also unsure of what specific meds your vet has him on. However for non-healing corneal ulcers we recommend either a surgical keratotomy, which involved placing micropunctures on the surface of the eye to stimulate proper wound healing over the ulcer OR a corneal flap (done by ophthalmologist in most cases) to cover the ulcerated area until it heals. If there is subsequent uveitis, then treating the eye with a topical medication like Flubriprofen and oral NSAID (if indicated) is ideal to help reduce inflammation and pain associated with this area. Another thing to consider here is that he may have a resistant bacteria and so a culture of the eye discharge should also be considered. I hope this helps and I hope your pet Phipps gets some relief soon.
