My cats from the same litter have swollen nose lumps. What's wrong?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | British Shorthair | Male | neutered | 4 years and 4 months old

Hi, I have 3 cats. The bridge of one of their noses has been swollen for quite a while, I took her to the vet but they didn't seem concerned. I've just notice my other cats seems to be developing the same kind of lump in the same place. They were both from the same litter and are 4 years old now and my 3rd cat who was not from the same litter seems unaffected. They are all Indoor cats.

Swelling along the bridge of the nose could be a sign of a fungal infection, dental disease or even a tumor. In general cats with these diseases will typically have other symptoms like nasal discharge or sneezing. I'd recommend contacting your veterinarian with your concerns and mentioning that two cats now seem to be affected. Your vet may want to recheck Beetle and also examine his littermate. If you still feel you aren't getting an appropriate explanation for what could be going on or why you shouldn't be worried, you could always see another veterinarian for a second opinion.
