Is CoQ10 necessary for my dog's heart, or just an expensive extra?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Thank you Melanie! If you were me would you give my dog coq10 for her heart? it seems expensive and given the fact that I already buy her other supplements im not sure it would be practical. What's your professional opinion? What it do much for heart health, could it add years to her life? Thanks!

You are welcome, I'm glad to help you! If it were me, I wouldn't give it to her. Dogs produce their own CoQ10, and with a high quality diet, she doesn't need this supplementation. I would only give it to her if she developed heart disease, which I certainly hope she does not! Should she develop heart problems, using the CoQ10 can help her :-)
