My 9-year-old cat is gagging, trying to throw up. What can I do?

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | 9 years and 7 months old

My 9 year old cat started trying to throw up last night, but couldn't. He seemed to get over it and went to sleep. He ate breakfast this morning, seemed fine, then started the gagging all over again. Sounds like he's trying to throw up a fur ball? What can I do to help.

IT could be hairball issue, but it could also be something much more serious. if he is otherwise acting normally, give him a hairball paste (can buy from any petshop) once a day for a week, if it doesn't get better- get him to the vet.
