Dog throwing up constantly, x-rays unclear. Need a second vet opinion?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Staffordshire Terrier | Male | unneutered | 5 years and 3 months old | 70.8 lbs

I need a second opinion on if i should continue with my vet or find a new one. My dog has been throwing up aboyt 30 times per day for 4 days, willingly eats and drinks but throws everything up,even vomitting when stomach emptt. He still has energy, but feels hot. We did xrays and bloodwork but bloodwork was normal. Xrays look fine to me but im no vet. Upon a qyick google search im thinking it isntbloat, but the vet was worried about one thing on the xray, which on google seems to be a pylorus.

I would caution about google searches for medical information on dogs, as the information you find is often incorrect. It's posted by lay persons, not veterinarians, and that means that person does not have the training in x-rays and animal treatment that veterinarians have. It certainly isn't normal that Pubbles is vomiting so much, and it could be possible that he has a linear foreign body or a foreign body that is hard to see on x-ray. You can certainly take your dog into another vet for a second opinion, but you can also talk to your vet about further tests such as an ultrasound or exploratory laparotomy.
