My cat's pelvic fracture isn't healing. Is her cast treatment right?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 4 years and 9 months old | 6.6 lbs

25 days ago my cat, a five year old mixed breed fell through a shaft in our apartment and injured her left leg. We've taken her to many vets and recently she had an X-ray that showed pelvic fracture of the left leg, her doctor said that a surgery is not possible and put her in a cast. She said that she'll heal without complications but since then my cat hasn't shown much improvement. I want to know how long it'll take for her to heal and whether we're giving her the right treatment.

Oh no, poor Fawn! Without see her or her x-rays in person, I can't say for certain that surgery isn't possible. My best recommended for you is to take her into another vet for a second opinion, especially if she doesn't seem to be showing any improvement. That vet can let you know if they feel surgery is possible or not. I hope this helps and she feels better soon :-)
