Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 7.3 lbs
My male, neutered, 8 month old cat has been peeing in the laundry basket. Their litter box is clean and we bleached the laundry basket so the smell of pee is gone. Not sure why he is doing this. He still uses the litter box, so I don't think it is litter box related. He hasn't been acting any different and is still eating and drinking normally.

It may be that he will not reuse a used litter tray or that sometimes he feels too vulnerable to use the tray and has found a more safe and secure alternative in certain situations. Unfortunately also bleach can encourage remarking of territory - biological washing powder is often the best alternative for removing odors and preventing re-marking
