How long can my 16-year-old cat live comfortably on prednisone?

My vet gave me prednisone for my 16 yr old cat to 'make' comfortable. She knows I can't afford expensive care.Throughout his life he's had these convulsive/ snorting bouts. My question is this. How long will he live on this medicine?

I do know your cat medical history as well as what he is suffering from, snorting could be caused by more than one condition and i have no way to know what condition it is. for this reason i cannot give you an answer to your question, but you should definitely point this question to your vet.
