Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | neutered | 65 lbs
My 8 yr old APT/American Bull Dog mix has always had a small hard lump on his rt forepaw. About a week again I noticed it had tripled in size overnight. I palpated and felt fluid, and lanced the area over the fluid. I found blood which I drained. The blood coagulates, and the incision begins to heal, however, it repeatedly swells w/more blood. I usually vet my own animals, but I am at a loss here. Have thought of placing a small rubber drain...just unsure.

You must get Dex professionally assessed by a vet as soon as possible. It is not appropriate to treat such a condition at home and surgical procedures to explore and close/drain the mass may only be performed by a licensed veterinarian with appropriate anesthetic and pain relief. It may be necessary to biopsy the area to identify the underlying cause also
