Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | spayed | 5 months and 28 days old | 90 lbs

I think my dog might have a bloat... She salivates a lot and eats really fast. She coughs a lot but no food comes out, almost like shes trying to throw up. I dont know for sure but i need answers...

Poor girl. Bloat (gastric volvulus) is a condition in which the stomach Swiss on itself causing excessive vomiting, abdominal pain, and lateral recumbency. Her symptoms do not suggest that she has bloat because her symptoms are not that severe. Her symptoms do suggest however that she may have an upset tummy, foreign body partial obstruction, possible infection or other internal illness, and the salivation indicates that she's nauseous Try withholding food for the next 12 hours to let her stomach settle, and offer her a bland diet of boiled plain chicken and rice or cottage cheese for the next couple of feedings then monitor her for the next 24 hours for improvement. If she does get better then that's great she likely had an upset stomach from something she ate. However if she does not improve or continues to get worse, then it is best to take her into your local vet for an exam and possible testing to find out what is causing her illness and the treatment she needs to get better. I hope this helps and I hope that your for baby gets better soon!
