Is it normal for my dog to scratch after ear yeast infection medicine?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | 3 months and 1 day old | 7 lbs

Hello, I took my dog to the vet yesterday because she would scratch her ears olot ..They told me she had a yeast infection ..They put some type of vaceline medicine in her it wasn't vaceline but looked like it..Is it normal for her to still scratch herself??? Would it be because the medicine is doing it's job?? She doesn't scratch often as she used to... Thanks for the help(:

It may take a few days for the medicine to work fully and for her to stop scratching. The fact that she is not scratching as much is a good sign. Monitor her for a few days and call your vet if she doesn't seem better. Your vet may want to recheck her to see if additional treatment is needed.
