My dog has diarrhea and vomiting. Should I give him Pepto Bismol?

My dog ate some old cat food and he's been throwing up and having diarrhea. I'm going to feed him some white rice, but can I put pepto bismol in it? I have the pepto tablets so I was wondering how much to break off and give him. He's a 6 pound Maltese. Pet's info: Dog | Maltese | Male | neutered | 8 years and 5 months old

The land diet of chicken and rice is a good plan. The pepto probably won't affect the outcome. In some cases especially with tablets, pepto can show up as radiopaque on an x-ray which could be interpreted as a foreign object. I would advise you to stick to the land diet.
