Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 2 years and 8 months old | 16 lbs

My cat has been very lethargic lately, and I just found a hole in his side of the stomach and it's all pussy I'm sure it's a bite from another cat or some type of animal such as a raccoon Do I need to bring my cat in or can I just take a picture of the wond

Poor Babie! Wounds caused by other animals are very likely to get infected without treatment, so the best thing to do is to book Babie in with your vet. He may need sedation in order for the vet to see how deep the wound is, and will also likely need a course of antibiotics.

I would definitely bring Babie into the vet as soon as possible. This hole with pus is infected, and it would cause him to be very lethargic. The wound will need to be cleaned, and he will need antibiotics for the infection. Please take him into an ER vet or find a vet on call to see him now.
