My dog's paw sore isn't healing. What should I do to help it?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | 2 years old | 63 lbs

My pup has a sore on top of his foot on his back leg and it's just not wanting to heal.. I've kept it clean.. it looked like it was healing up great and then he messed with it while I was gone for a couple hours and opened it back up

You could soak the paw in a warm Epsom salt solution and see if that helps, however it may not heal if he keeps licking it. You could use an E-collar and see if that prevents him from licking the paw. If it persists than he should be examined by a vet for treatment. He may need an oral antibiotic and an anti-inflammatory to treat the problem.
