Hello hope you can offer some advice. I have a pointer puppy who is mow 4 months and as of 7 days ago started with diarrhea and hasnt stopped. Took him to the vets who gave 5 days worth of antibiotics *metronidazol 250mg every 12 hours. Along with sample bottles to provide samples and a can of different dog food as he wont eat his usual dry food. Diarrhea continuing. No improvement. He shows no other sign of ill health ...his energy is impressive and he is drinking water. Please help!

Submit the stool samples to diagnose intestinal parasites or bacterial overgrowth. Withhold ALL food for 12-24 hours. Allow small amounts of unflavored PediaLyte. Resume feeding a bland diet in small, frequent amounts. Feed until the stool is normal before transitioning slowly6 to the regular diet. A bland diet can be plain white rice mixed with one of the following: boiled boneless/skinless chicken breasts, cottage cheese, cooked ground turkey or cooked/drained ground beef.
