My cat's firm lump is growing. Is it time to see the vet again?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 17 years old | 6 lbs

My cat has an airgun pellet diagnosis and I was advised that i was best to leave it in November 2016. The very small lump has now grown into a visable protusion on his right flank. It is very firm. Should I take him back to my vet?

If it seems to be getting bigger and causing a protrusion than he should be reexamined by your vet to determine the cause. At this point, it may be best to remove it, especially since the area is enlarging.
