Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund | Male | neutered
He went out to potty and started eating grass. A little bit later he pooped and I saw bits of grass. He's actung a bit clingy and now I am holding him and can hear his stomach rumbling. Should I be concerned? Thank you

Dogs often eat grass when they have an upset stomach, and it sounds like Shorty has been eating grass previously since he pooped grass. I wouldn't be concerned just yet, but I would monitor him. He could have eaten something that upset his stomach. You can try feeding him bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If this doesn't help with his symptoms, or he starts vomiting, becomes very lethargic, and/or stops eating, then I would have him seen by a vet.

Thank you for contacting Pet Coach with your question about Buddy! I'd be concerned in that it sounds like he has an upset stomach and is sick. I can give you a home remedy to try to see if that helps him. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If he starts vomiting in the absence of food, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. I hope this helps!
