Hi I have a hedgehog and he has a red area on his spikes at the top of his head I'm not sure if it's blood but I don't think it is because there is no blood in his cage anywhere the only thing I changed with him recently is his food it's now half commercial hedgehog food and half cat food so I don't know if maybe something in the new food could have been red and got on him

Any food coloring could have possibly stained his quills. If he will allow, gently wipe with a moist, soft cloth. If the color comes off then you know it was something external. While you are cleaning him, check for obvious wounds or injury.
