My cat threw up worms and hasn't eaten. Is this an emergency?

Cat who hasn't eaten all day just threw up worms. Thin, long, off-white worms. Roundworms? How long do I have to get him dewormed? Is he going to die?

It is rare for worms to kill a cat unless they cause a full obstruction of the bowel with severe, persistent vomiting or extreme weight loss. It would be important to deworm her within the next 48hours and to schedule an emergency vet assessment if she becomes weak
