My cat is sick, not eating, lost voice, and trying to throw up.

My cat has been feeling really poorly lately. She’s not eating normally, she’s lost her voice and she’s constantly feeling nauseous she tries to throw up but can’t. What should I do?

Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Many conditions can cause the signs you are describing, from internal masses to infections and intestinal issues. Twinkle should be seen by a vet right away - they can perform bloodwork and x-rays to determine what is going on and recommend the appropriate treatment.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Loss of appetite can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. Sometimes loss of voice can be seen in cats that are very weak. I recommend that you have Teddy evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. My kitten is 6 weeks old, she used to be playful and healthy day before yesterday but from yesterday she start vomiting and stinky poop. Moreover become really lazy and not eating anything.

I would recommend having a veterinarian examine Cookie so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. My cat Winnie is sick for 2 weeks.We went to vet and they used antibiotic treatment for 5 days.But he is still sick.His voice is been muted.Also he can not puke every time he try to puke.Is there anything we can do?And what is this disease?Please hel
Thank you for using Boop by Petco. I'm sorry that Winnie is so sick. I would recommend taking him back to the veterinarian to look for other causes of his illness. If he is not eating much that can cause him to attempt to vomit but not bring anything up. The veterinarian may recommend doing further diagnostics such as bloodwork or xrays to figure out what is wrong with Winnie. Viral disease, toxin ingestion, GI blockage can all cause illness with vomiting, so Winnie really needs further diagnostics for the best chance at successful treatment. I hope he's feeling better soon.

I recently changed my cat food from happy cat to friskies, I mixed it with happy cat and she has no problem eating friskies, but after several hours, she vomited all it ate. After that she won't eat anything, even Happy cat food. What should I do?

I recommend that you have Lisa evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. This will likely require bloodwork and abdominal imaging in terms of diagnostics. Treatment would be based on findings. At the very least your veterinarian could start her on medications to make her feel better. Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! How old is Marmalade? The vomit concerns me. I would recommend having her examined to see if she has lost weight. If she is older there are conditions that can occur that cause increased vocalization, increased vomiting and weight loss (diabetes, hyperthyroidism, kidney disease, etc). Other causes of vomiting are: intestinal parasites, a blockage from eating some foreign object, pancreatitis, intestinal disease, food allergy/intolerance or a reaction to a food change. If the vomiting continues she needs to be seen by a Vet. I wish you the best!

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Poor Tifa! Thanks for the pictures! The spaghetti noodle things in the vomit are adult round worms, which are an intestinal parasite. Since Tifa is lethargic, not eating and profusely vomiting I would recommend taking her in to the Vet. Hopefully with some supportive care and deworming medications we can get her back to normal. I have, in rare cases, seen intestinal parasites cause an intestinal obstruction. I hope this helps and I wish Tifa a speedy recovery!

Why won’t my cat eat and is throwing up and really lethargic
I highly recommend taking Paraki to a veterinarian. He could have a foreign body, pancreatitis or even a virus. He needs supportive care and diagnostics to determine what is going on with him. Thank you for using Boop by Petco.
